By pairing the finest natural and man-made handle materials with the highest grades of hand-sorted badger hair, each brush is a delight to the senses.

Brush No.34 features a substantial handle carved from a piece of rare and strikingly figured bog oak with a Macassar Ebony top. Bog oak is wood that has been buried in a peat bog for hundreds or sometimes thousands of years. The extremely low oxygen conditions of the bog protect the wood from normal decay, while the underlying peat provides acidic conditions where iron salts and other minerals react with the tannins in the wood, gradually giving it a distinct dark brown to almost black color. The wood has been stabilized with stabilizing resin (making it harder are more impervious to water), highly polished and finally coated with Renaissance wax.
The brush features a 28mm diameter knot of sumptuous High Mountain White Manchurian badger hair. These rare bristles have a medium firm stiffness paired with velvety soft white tips ensuring a generous lather.

It will arrive in a custom presentation box with a care guide featuring a wax seal, the artist’s signature and a complimentary tin of Renaissance Wax to keep the brush handle protected and looking its best.
