Aiiwatani Karasu Japanese Natural Finishing Whetstone

This exceptional Japanese whetstone was selected by us and imported directly from Japan, thoroughly tested and sealed on sides and back to protect the stone for long term use. 

It measures 210 mm (8.27 inches) long × 90 mm (3.54 inches) wide × 30 mm (1.18 inches) tall, and weighs 1550 g (54.67 oz / 3.42 lbs).

Large, wide Aiiwatani Aisa with vivid Karasu patterns throughout. With excellent hardness and density, this piece is perfect for razor honing using Mikawa nagura progressions. The feedback is extremely clear and readable with bumpy feedback which is a rare and desired trait. This stone will release a bit of itself into the slurry mixture but with it's clear feedback, doesn't serve as a negative. This stone has a superficial fissure on the surface near the side, which only serves as a visual distraction with no affect on honing/results. Overall, this large karasu is a great value piece offering a solid platform in which to hone with great looks to match it's performance.
