This stunning and huge Aiiwatani Mizu Asagi is perfect for someone who values performance over all else. This stone offers unparalleled surface area and will accommodate any size of blade. If this stone was from Nakayama, it would demand 5 x the price of this Aiiwatani, easily. This hard and fine Mizu Asagi is almost certainly a mixture of Shiki Tomae, Hon Tomae and Aisa. The Shiki/Hon Tomae character traits such as high hardness, fine particles and efficient cutting strength are combined with the ease of use, delicate feel and holographic Suminagashi are indicative of Aisa. with all of these characteristics combined, the user is rewarded with a versatile stone which has excellent hardness and fine polishing characteristics combined with the user friendly nature of Aisa. This amounts to a very fine stone which is perfect for final finishing of razors and bright, mirror like polish for cutlery. Extremely versatile and can be used very effectively with Mikawa Nagura progressions and standalone finishing for razors. Also effective in standalone finishing for knives and tools. This stone creates a bright, detailed mirror like finish on knives which is easily achieved with a bit of patience and pressure/slurry management. For such a hard and fine stone, it is relatively easy to use and the results speak for themselves. A extremely great value! For such a high performance stone in giant size, there are very few stones like it on the market.

A photo of the stone's polishing ability on a high quality Japanese kitchen knife is shown.
