Vintage Hatanaka Nakayama Hon Tomae Kiita iromono Maruka. Hatanaka Tennen toishi is widely considered the most famous stone wholesaler of all time. Hatanaka acquired the mining rights from Kato San for the nakayama mine and carried out active mining until his passing. The famous Maruka stamp was owned by Hatanaka. Nakayama Hon Tomae are widely considered the most desirable and sought after stones and for great reason. Finding one in the original packaging with stamps intact is extremely rare and there are many fake ones on the market. This stunning Hon Tomae features a classic bright yellow Kiita base color with vivid red, abstract Iromono splashes which is complimented by subtle Nashiji or pear skin patterns. This is a hard yet extremely forgiving Kiita with the quintessential elasticity and ease of use which these Nakayama Kiita are revered for. The collectors stone with original box and stamps intact. A perfect finishing stone for a majority of tasks, finishing applications and skill levels. Amazing for razor finishing with its silky smooth feel and operation. A nice change from super hard finishing stones like Asagi. Creates atom splitting edges with amazing comfort in relatively little time and effort. Can be used with Nagura progressions but really shines as a standalone finishing stone.
