An Art Piece Stone for sure! Beautiful Kiita yellow base with loads of red Kan circles and yellow Namazu streaks to contrast. This is a hard Kiita that works great with Mikawa nagura. this stone had less base stone in the Mikawa slurry. The resulting feedback was spectacular and the edge was extraordinary. This is a very high quality piece of Nakayama for certain. There is a small area near the bottom of the stone where the lines meet and only that spot is mildly toxic. It will be repaired and ready to use upon shipping. This small flaw takes nothing away from the insane quality and performance of this stone. after all, they are natural stones. For water only razor honing, the stone has a dense, hard feel but it's not void of feeling at all. There are differing levels of tiny granularity that keep things interesting. With thin diamond slurry, the stone immediately speeds up and the slurry darkens.
A photo of the resulting polish left on a high quality Japanese knife is shown.
