This exceptional Japanese whetstone was selected by us and imported directly from Japan and thoroughly tested and the sides and back were sealed with clear lacquer.

It measures 180 mm (7.09 in) long × 105 mm (4.13 in) wide × 25 mm (0.98 in) tall, and weighs 632 g (22.29 oz / 1.39 lb).

Medium hard, vintage BNIB Nakayama Maruichi Ikimurasaki. This stone was leftover inventory from a business after it closed down. This particular stone was mined from the Tenjou Tomae layer which is evident by its vivid, colorful base. Very easy to work with and extremely versatile stone. This piece comes with the original packaging and stamping. Authentic Maruichi brand Stones are extremely rare to find and represent an important piece of natural whetstone history. This piece is perfect for all blades including Razors, knives and tools and will be quite easy going overall. Great for all levels of skill and experience.
