Graded as Betsudaiju meaning pure white and a usable flat surface for direct honing, sharpening and polishing. This authentic Nagura is extremely rare and valuable with sizeable pieces of authentic, clean and pure Koma being nearly extinct. not only is it highly valuable but it's extremely versatile in application and can be used all blades including Razors, knives, tools and swords for honing and polishing. It can also be used as a large slurry Nagura and performs at an extremely high level. This koppa demonstrates nice hardness and particle uniformity. A fast cutting Nagura with inky black swarf appearing instantly. Capable of high levels of refinement when used for direct honing and polishing. Great for following coarser Nagura and other Naka Toishi and removes those scratches quickly and effectively. When used for direct honing of razors, it performs quite fast and fine with forced slurry increasing the cutting strength and polishing capabilities by releasing grit rich slurry which helps to create a smooth, even and consistent Kasumi finish. Great pre finishing stone which bridges the gap between an upper mid range stone and finishing stones. When used for polishing, it creates a beautiful, semi hazy, reflective and detailed finish. Brings out details in the steel and cladding in clad blades and shows details for Honyaki blades. Although graded as Pure white, this Koma features some orange coloration and has increased hardness.
