Hardness: 4.1
This Super clean and consistent Uchigumori Jito is a wonderful example of a hard Uchigumori. With its dark blue base and densely packed Renge, it's not only beautiful, but highly functional and quite versatile. The stone is left with the backside uncured to allow for a double sided hone as both sides are incredibly clean and beautiful. there are zero lines or distractions on both sides. This stones is a Kasumi finish cheat code. Even a beginner will have no trouble getting consistent results with ease. For honing purposes, the stone is fast and efficient in scratch removal and forced slurry speeds up the process. Each side has its own unique feeling and polishing result. This stone can be used to finish razors or pre finish. For knives, the stone doesn't self slurry much at all and only releases black inky swarf. The polish varies in shade of Jigane quite drastically. Overall, the stone is of tremendous quality and stands out among the high quality Uchigumori we have recently gotten.

A photo of the stone's polishing ability on a high quality Japanese kitchen knife is shown.
