This exceptional Japanese whetstone was selected by us and imported directly from Japan and thoroughly tested.

It measures 137 mm (5.39 inches) long × 80 mm (3.15 inches) wide × 8 mm (0.31 inches) tall, and weighs 308 g (10.86 oz / 0.68 lbs).

Old mined Nakayama Suita koppa with excellent hardness. This vintage Nakayama Suita offers both high performance and affordable price due it's thin height. although thin, it is plenty dense and also sealed with Cashew lacquer for years of reliable use. the backside is decorated with beautiful hand chiseling which often indicates a high quality stone. This is a vintage Nakayama Suita which was most likely used for years by the party in which we acquired it. The surface shows traditional hon Suita Tamagoiro base color with stunning patches of aka Renge and concentrated purple areas. This Nakayama Suita performs at an extremely high level demonstrating fast, inky cutting performance and nice hardness. This Suita produces the classic bright mirror like finish Nakayama are known for.
