Narutaki is a Eastern mine known for its versatile stone character traits. Narutaki is sometimes referred to as a region but in this case, we're referring to the Hon Narutaki Mine. The Hon Narutaki mine was heavily mined for centuries and closed down decades ago. Narutaki is well known and revered for its sword polishing capabilities, especially in the softer stones. Although Narutaki produced many softer Akapin/Tenjou and Hon Tomae, these Shiki Tomae Asagi are extremely dense, hard and fine. This Narutaki Asagi is perfect for razors and tool finishing and for knives where a fine finish is desired. This Asagi possesses the characteristic whispy and alive feedback when honing which makes water only laps more fun and interesting. This feedback can be read and understood by the user to discern the level of particle breakdown and edge progress while honing. Highly recommended for all skill levels and would be an amazing start to honing with Jnats.
