Vintage Ozuku Asagi from a retired Barbers collection. This old mined Ozuku barber hone is super dense and fine, the classic Japanese Barber hone. Ozuku is an Eastern, yamashiro area mine located in close proximity to Nakayama and Shobudani. Ozuku was known for extremely dense, hard, fine stones which were covered by barbers. This was a professional barbers hone with likely decades of service. This Ozuku has the classic close to stone feel when honking water only, keeping things interesting. Amazing for Mikawa nagura progressions with clear and concise feedback. capable of the highest levels of refinement and hyper keen edges! This type of Kuro or black Asagi was mined from the lower Shiki Tomae strata, known for producing extremely dense, hard and fine stones with this being no exception.
