Selected by us and imported directly from Japan, this Japanese whetstone has been sealed on the sides and back with clear lacquer for protection and extensively tested to assess its performance. Complete details of our testing results are provided below.

It measures 192 mm (7.56 inches) long × 72 mm (2.83 inches) wide × 15 mm (0.59 inches) tall, and weighs 540 g (19.05 oz / 1.19 lbs).

Shobudani is an Eastern, Yamashiro area mine and is one of two Original Honyama Mines along with Nakayama. This Vintage Sen Mai has traces of Kanji on the sides which has faded over the many years it was stored in a warehouse. A super hard and extremely fine stone with amazing purity. This stone is extremely hard, much more so than normal. Light saber, hyper keen edges can be achieved with proper work and technique.
