Offered here are white and gray varieties of Tam O Shanter sharpening stones, a piece of history from the original workshop on the Dalmore estate in rural Stair, Scotland.

Characterized by a speckled pattern, these stones exhibit an aesthetically stunning appearance. The Tam O'Shanter, prized for its ability to achieve "very fine cuts," approaches 10,000 grit. Its applications extend to meticulous edge finishing or the removal of micro blemishes, resulting in extra keen cutting edges. Notably, these stones demonstrate compatibility with razors susceptible to micro-chipping. 

This is a small piece of stone, collected as an end cut, leftover from the original mined stones and extremely useful for the purpose of creating a cutting slurry by rubbing on a larger hone.
