Beautiful large Wakasa Karasu Suita with perfect shape! Wakasa is an Eastern mine located near Aiiwatani and is well regarded for its consistent Awasedo. Wakasa Suita are becoming extremely rare and a specimen of this size and purity is Extremely impressive. This Suita has a silky smooth yet slightly elastic feel with amazing glide. An extremely versatile Bench stone capable of multiple lifetimes of professional service. Beautifully rich and rustic kawa covers the backside. The base color is a mix of yellow, blue and green with Karasu patterns which become vivid when wet. Workshorse bench stone in all ways including application. appropriate for all blades including razors. Extremely inky and grit rich with little to no self slurry yet very forgiving with the elasticity. Best for razors when used as a standalone finisher and appropriate for all levels of skill as finishing is relatively simple and straightforward. Wonderful for tools and knives with fast cutting performance and extremely smooth and easy going glide. Edges are on the refined side but still retains nice tooth.
