Aiiwatani Aisa Karasu Japanese Natural Finishing Whetstone

This exceptional Japanese whetstone was selected by us and imported directly from Japan, thoroughly tested and sealed on sides and back to protect the stone for long term use. 

It measures 210 mm (8.27 inches) long × 80 mm (3.15 inches) wide × 15 mm (0.59 inches) tall, and weighs 533 g (18.80 oz / 1.18 lbs).

Hard Aiiwatani Aisa with beautiful Karasu and yellow Namazu. Being on the thin side of height, the stone will be priced accordingly and represents a great value for a razor stone. This is a hard type Aiiwatani Karasu and works excellent for Mikawa Nagura progressions or standalone use for finishing razors. The stone provides accurate and clear feedback which aids in long Nagura progressions indicating the users progress through tactile and audible feedback. The stone is just gentle enough to allow for knives and tools where a super fine finish is desired. Great all-around Karasu, Not too hard and fussy/scratchy at all and capable of high levels of refinement. If used a razor finisher, this stone although thin, will surely last many years. A great opportunity to purchase an old stock, hard Karasu stone at a reasonable price! Great value stone with all of the same performance characteristics and surface area as a thicker stone. If the height was doubled, the stone's cost would be much greater!
