Aiiwatani is an Eastern mine known for producing a wide variety of stone types. This perfectly shaped Karasu Suita is a medium hardness stone which is very easy to use. This beautiful Karasu Suita is easy to work with and can be used for all finishing applications. It's an easy going stone which releases self slurry under the weight of a heavier blade like knives and tools. A perfect all around stone which will last multiple lifetimes of professional use. This stone was mined from the Tenjou Suita layer and it's greenish/blue base is decorated with Karasu patterns and yellow Namazu. Perfect for medium grit scratch removal. Can be used for razor pre finish as it is softer and more aggressive. perfect for finishing of knives and tools and creates a semi hazy, detailed Kasumi finish with ease. Edges are the perfect combination of tooth vs Refinement, maximizing edge retention. When used for razors, this stone is best served as a pre finisher as its softer base hardness allows for free flowing grit and aggressive scratch removal capabilities.
