Aiiwatani Suita Japanese Natural Whetstone

This exceptional Japanese whetstone was selected by us and imported directly from Japan, thoroughly tested and sealed on sides and back to protect the stone for long term use. 

It measures 200 mm (7.87 inches) long × 65 mm (2.56 inches) wide × 24 mm (0.94 inches) tall, and weighs 748 g (26.37 oz / 1.65 lbs).

Hard Aiiwatani Suminagashi Suita . A rare harder suminagashi type Suita, not often seen these days. This piece is noticeably hard and dense, best for edges and razor pre-finish to finish. Versatile in use as it's fast enough for standalone use and firm enough to experiment with nagura progression. This Suita is perfect for toothy knife edges and kasumi polishing. Creates a vividly contrasting finish. Priced at a value rate taking the line into account. It can be easily removed and as it runs vertically, honing and knife edge work is affected much less than a horizontal line. Great value piece for it's rarity and overall versatility.
