Super hard, ultra fine Aiiwatani Mizu asagi with Goma. Aiiwatani stones, especially the harder ones, are perfect for razor honing and highly regarded for their versatility. These have been used throughout history in Japan, treasured by carpenters and barbers for their ultra keen edges and fine, mirror like polish. Works perfectly for Mikawa nagura progressions displaying little to no self slurry added to the nagura slurry offering an unadulterated honing experience. Although very hard and dense, these Aiiwatani Asagi are just gentle enough to allow for knives and tools where an ultra fine finish desired. Although super hard, the cutting speed is quite impressive which adds to the stones overall value and versatility. Can also be used standalone when honing razors ultilizing various slurry creation methods to release the stone's abrasive. Water only laps are smooth and yield an ultra fine finish.
