This new in box Hatanaka Nakayama Tenjou Tomae Ikimurasaki Maruka includes stamps, literature and box. A 60' size, beautiful example with classic Tenjou Tomae Ikimurasaki coloration including reds, purples, blues and greens. A firm yet forgiving Maruka which is extremely versatile and appropriate all applications including razors, knives, tools and swords. This stone is fast cutting and extremely smooth in operation. Not soft by any means but firm enough to support slurry/particle breakdown and demonstrates amazing particle uniformity for such an easy going stone. When used for razors, it is fine enough for great, comfortable shaves and with work, you can achieve light saber edges. When used for knives/tools, this Maruka is extremely efficient as the heavier blades will release a bit more self slurry. This stone is capable of producing a bright, reflective Kasumi finish with amazing depth and detail. Edges are screaming sharp and nearly atom splitting with a hint of tooth which is vital for double bevel kitchen knife edges.
