Hatanaka Ohira Renge Suita Japanese Natural Finishing Whetstone

This exceptional Japanese whetstone was selected by us and imported directly from Japan, thoroughly tested and sealed on sides and back to protect the stone for long term use. 

It measures 205 mm (8.07 inches) long × 77 mm (3.03 inches) wide × 28 mm (1.10 inches) tall, and weighs 1135 g (40.02 oz / 2.50 lbs).

Extremely rare Ohira Renge Suita from Hatanaka. original sticker and stamps intact. This 40' stone is nearly perfect except one corner and a shallow chip on the face side near the the circular stamp, which would lap out within the first couple lappings most likely. This Suita is on the hard and fine side for Ohira Suita and features a beautiful, multi colored base with orange yaki encompassing the white Shiro and aka Renge with purple tones. These Hatanaka Ohira Suita are extremely rare and desired among collectors. This hard Ohira Suita is the ultimate example of a truly versatile stone, appropriate for nearly all applications including razor finishing, knife edges and kasumi polishing, tools and swords.
