Pure white Shiro Suita from the Hon Shiro layer/strata in Hideriyama. Hideriyama is a western mine known its softer, grit rich stones, especially it's Suita. With beautiful, subtle Renge and suminagashi patterns within the Shiro base. Soft stone at around LV 3 with buttery smooth feel. Perfect for pre finishing and can be used as a substitute for soft Uchigumori in a honing/polishing progression. Follows natural medium grit stones extremely well such as Aoto, Iyoto, Aizu, Tajima, Mikawa etc. Removes medium grit scratches and produces a vividly contrasting, deep, smoky kasumi finish. Loved by knife and sword polishers for their ease of use and distinct kasumi polish. These Shiro Suita contain orange, irregular patterns which seem to be non toxic. however, if straight lines are present, they will need removal for knife polishing as they cause minor scratching. Priced affordably due to the presence of the straight, thin lines.

A photo of the stone's polishing ability on soft and hard steels of a Japanese kitchen knife is shown.
