Classic, semi soft Hideriyama Tomae Iromono. These softer Hideriyama Tomae are very creamy and luxurious with maximum ease of use. Hideriyama is a western mine known for softer, highly abrasive stones. This example is classic Hideriyama, loaded with silica abrasive but composed of particles which are a bit more large than most eastern mines like Nakayama, Shobudani, Aiiwatani etc. This stone is clean with no toxic lines or inclusions. Perfect for kasumi finish, bitey edges, and pre finishing of razors/tools. These semi soft Hideriyama stones are perfect for all experience levels looking for an easy to use, versatile stone on the lower end of refinement.
A photo of the stone's polishing ability on soft and hard steels of a Japanese kitchen knife are shown.
