Mikawa Shiro Nagura Atsu Sword Grade Japanese Natural Whetstone

This exceptional Japanese whetstone was selected by us and imported directly from Japan, thoroughly tested and sealed on the sides to protect the stone for long term use.

It measures 177 mm (6.97 inches) long × 50 mm (1.97 inches) wide × 42 mm (1.65 inches) tall, and weighs 767 g (27.06 oz / 1.69 lbs).

An extremely rare, Sword Grade Atsu Nagura. With the presence of Sword Grade nagura declining heavily, this is an extremely rare find. Would be tradionally used in place of Chu nagura in a sword polishing progression. This piece is fast and quite coarse, removing previous scratches with ease. Great as a bevel setter for razors and capable of further refinement with good technique when honing direct. Great for Kamisori after a lower medium grit synthetic.
