This stone has a few small lines on the surface which can cause small scratches in soft iron cladding. They do not scratch hardened steel, therefore making them perfect for razor medium grit honing. The stone can set bevels where no major damage has been done to the edge. They also serve well in scratch removal of a bevel setting stone. These Aoto have wonderful range as they can be used to take the edge from bevel set to pre finish with one stone.
