Small but potent Nakayama Namito. This vintage Nakayama Namito is from a retired Barber. it's a small Kamisori/razor sized hone with beautiful dai. This stone has a unique hard yet forgiving feel and great cutting speed. Namito is a layer which sits between Aisa and Shiki Tomae. Namito stones are typically more dense and compact with fine polishing ability. This stone is quite rich with abrasive and cuts quickly with water only when sharpening a plane. No self slurry is released but the stone accepts and locks in the blade producing a comfortable gliding sensation and dense black swarf. This is a mirror polishing stone with extremely fine grain and capable of light saber edges. A versatile razor finishing stone which can perform at a high level both with water only/slurry and with Mikawa nagura progressions.
