Narutaki Tomae Ikimurasaki Koppa Japanese Natural Finishing Whetstone

This exceptional Japanese whetstone was selected and purchased by us directly from Japan. It has been individually thoroughly tested and coated with cashew lacquer on sides and back to protect the stone for long term use.  It measures 145 mm (5.71 inches) long × 70 mm (2.76 inches) wide × 15 mm (0.59 inches) thick, and weighs 383 g (13.51 oz / 0.84 lbs).

Hardness: LV 4.3
Hard, fine Narutaki Tomae Ikimurasaki Kan. This beautiful koppa is a slightly harder example. It's perfect for hand held razor finishing. With firm base, honing on water only yields light self slurry with fine, granular feel. The audible feedback is high pitched yet less granular than the softer examples. This whispy feedback makes progress extremely discernable. The stone is versatile in that it can be used effectively as a standalone hone with diamond plate slurry/H2O only or used with Nagura Progressions.
