This exceptional Japanese whetstone was selected by us and imported directly from Japan, thoroughly tested and sealed on sides and back to protect the stone for long term use. 

It measures 212 mm (8.35 inches) long × 75 mm (2.95 inches) wide × 35 mm (1.38 inches) tall, and weighs 1359 g (47.96 oz / 2.99 lbs).

Okudo Suita are best known as being considered King if Suita in Japan and for good reason. Their high abrasive content is fine in nature yet impressively aggressive. While removing previous scratches quickly, they also possess excellent refinement capabilities. This example features a pure white, Haebute base with light kuro range. This is a harder Suita with excellent cutting speed and refinement capabilities. This particular piece is completely free and clean of any toxic lines/flaws. This piece excells in all areas of honing/sharpening with extremely fast cutting speeds while maintaining high base hardness. Haebute Suita are some of the most rare and desirable types of Okudo Suita and this example is excellent one.
