Super hard Shobudani Asagi for razors. Shobudani is one of the two original Honyama Mines along with Nakayama. Shobudani mine was located in close proximity to Nakayama and therefore the stones can share similar characteristics at times. Shobudani is an Eastern, Yamashiro Area mine which produced a wide variety of stone types. The Shobudani mine has been closed for decades, just like the vast majority of tennen toishi mines. This piece was acquired from a large collection and was originally sourced from Keith V Johnson. An extremely high performance stone with amazing density and hardness which translates directly to extremely fine performance characteristics. This stone is best used with Mikawa Shiro Nagura Progressions.
