Shobudani is one of two of the original Honyama Mines along with Nakayama. Shobudani produced a wide variety of stone types and characteristics and is known for its versatile stones. This Beautiful Shiro Suita is a Suminagashi type with multi colored Renge. This is a large, 30' size Suita with excellent purity. This is a collectors piece and these Shobudani Suita are becoming extremely rare and valuable. Fine and firm Suita with inky fast cutting performance. Hard enough to hone razors and fine enough to finish razors with proper work and technique. Great for knives, tools and swords as well and exhibits amazing purity for a Suita! This piece is near museum quality and it's only flaw is the one dropped corner. When wet, the stone comes to life with multi colored Renge and multi faceted Suminagashi patterns. Top tier in both sharpening and polishing and extremely rare to find these days! Collectors piece!
