Aiiwatani Mizu Asagi Japanese Natural Finishing Whetstone
This exceptional Japanese whetstone was selected by us and imported directly from Japan, thoroughly tested and sealed on sides and back to protect the stone for long term use.
It measures 220 mm (8.66 inches) long × 76 mm (2.99 inches) wide × 33 mm (1.30 inches) tall, and weighs 1305 g (46.03 oz / 2.88 lbs).

Perfectly hard and fine Aiiwatani Mizu asagi from lower layer Tomae (Shiki tomae). Known for super hard razor stones and these do not disappoint! Aiiwatani is known for abrasive packed, firm stones and these Mizu asagi are quintessential examples. Displaying a super hard, beautiful blue base, these stones are perfect for Mikawa nagura progressions with moderate cutting speed and extremely fine refinement capabilities. This series of Mizu asagi feature a satin like feedback which can clearly be felt when honing with water only. This keeps water only laps interesting and engaging. These super hard Aiiwatani are prized for their ability to retain excellent cutting speed for their hardness. They are quite versatile in terms of hard stones.
