Amakusa Torado Old Stock Coarse Grit Japanese Natural Whetstone - Choose Your Stone

These Vintage, Volcanic Amakusa are extremely high quality medium coarse stones. Tradionally used for bevel setting and repair, these Torado are aggressive and capable much higher levels of refinement than the current stones on the market. These are from old pre 1970 mining and have been sitting in our wholesalers warehouse. These Amakusa possess aggressive abrasive particles which are perfect for bevels in need of some minor repair or simply to hone into fresh steel. These Vintage Amakusa possess little to no impurities which in combination with their nice base hardness, allows for further refinement. Tradionally, Binsui would be used after Amakusa and our sword grade binsui follow these Amakusa, seamlessly.
