Restoration: Fully restored- The blade was fully polished and cleaned, original scales were polished and finally the razor was honed to shaving sharpness (all in-house by GSG founder Matt W.)

Condition: Lovely restored finish, light cosmetic blemishes remaining

Material: Original & Rare transparent green celluloid with debossed and painted lizard  emblem 
Pinning: Original Nickel silver original pins & washers
Condition: Very good, but take note there is a fracture on the face side at the center which was welded with acetone (melts and re-hardens the celluloid) and then wet sanded and polished and a bit of warping remains, the blade is held tightly and centers well between them
About our restoration and honing process
Each one of our restored razors is brought back to life with a passion and attention to detail like it would be an addition to our own collection or user rotation. Many years of restoration experience and hundreds of restored razors sold around the world have refined our processes, but each razor is still given the time and individual attention it needs. Our vintage razors undergo dozens of steps involving blade unpinning (where necessarily) metal grinding/sanding with a range of different diameter and hardness wheels with various grits of abrasive and polishes. Scales are straightened and repaired when necessary, wet sanded and polishing. After the razor’s cosmetic and functional repairs are completed, a multistep honing process using a range of synthetic and natural sharpening stones is used to bring each razor back to keen and comfortable shaving sharpness. Finally stropping is performed on one of our cordovan leather strops and the blade is sanitized in Barbicide hospital-grade disinfectant.
