Note: Each Belgian Blue will include a 1 slurry stone and comes as surfaced by the mine. If you do not have the means to do so we will flatten/lap up to 1200 grit each hone at no charge, simply leave a note with your request at checkout.
The Belgian Blue Whetstone is a natural sharpening stone from the atelier of Ardennes Coticule, the only remaining producers of these sharpening stones. These hones are mined alongside yellow Coticule stone, and are somewhat similar in their sharpening abilities but with less cutting power so are a bit slower and not as capable for coarser work such as bevel setting on razors. They are better thought of as mid-range and finishing stones and excel at that purpose.
This stone measures 200 x 50mm (8x2") wide and approximately 15mm thick. It is ready to use for razor honing and a variety of other sharpening purposes.
An single stone from our inventory is shown (you will have your stone chosen at random from our stock).
