La Grosse Jaune is a rare, pale yellow vein known for its creamy texture and ultra-fine garnet structure. Softer and slower than most coticules, it offers superb tactile feedback and a very smooth, controlled polishing action. Favored by razor users for its mellow, velvety edges and forgiving feel, it excels as a finishing or touch-up hone, producing a comfortable yet keen shaving edge.
This Belgian Coticule is from the atelier of Ardennes Coticule, the only remaining producers of these sharpening stones. Coticules are wonderful razor hones and also well known for honing tools and knives. They are a fast cutting yet fine and versatile stone that can be used for bevel setting through finishing or followed by a finer stone.
