Offered here are modern Belgian Coticule water razor hones, some with with Belgian Blue backing stone from the Ardennes region of Belgium. These are hones from our personal collection and workshop use, now offered for sale.
Mined and prized as barber hones for hundreds of years, presented here is a small selection of old and rare stones from our private collection.
Each of these hones includes a coticule slurry stone as pictured and has been freshly lapped on the yellow coticule side and are ready to use.
The stones pictured here (shown with the honing surfaces wet in the final photos) have the following features:
Stone #1 - 6x3in. at the longest/widest points & 1in thick
Very nice & thick natural combo Coticule/BBW with a natural combo slurry stone
Stone #2 - 6.8x2 in. at the longest/widest points & 1.1 in thick

Stone #3 - 7x1.65 in. at the longest/widest points & .65in thick
Very hard Hybrid? or Les Lat? coticule side bonded to slate
Stone #4 - 2x1.6 in. at the longest/widest points, approximately & .8in thick
A very nice, rosy yellow and smooth as silk coticule glued to slate backing, classified as a standard grade coticule
Stone #5 - 4x3.75 in. at the longest/widest points & .8in thick
Coticule bonded to slate the lower edge is bevelled and not usable so while the stone measures 4.75x3.75 in. the usable honing area 4x3.75 in.
