This group of Binsui features the tell-tale, purple coloration which is typically indicative of higher quality stone with fine polishing characteristics. These Binsui have impressive hardness and density which allows for effective slurry breakdown. When combined with these stones impressive abrasive power, you're left with a beautiful and highly polished finish. We have tested all of the Omura/Binsui for compatibility when used in a progression, back to back, and the results are very consistent and indicate a perfect match, as known throughout history. These Binsui are vastly superior to the generic, hardware varieties which can be easily accessed online. After many comparisons over the years, the difference is clear and obvious with these particular Sword Grade Binsui being a totally different type of stone performance and quality.
For razors, these Binsui can be used in place or after a synthetic bevel setter. They quickly remove the deeper scratches, especially when used with forced slurry, and as the particles break down, the finish becomes increasingly more fine. These stones can be followed by either a Mikawa Nagura progression on a fine finishing stone or followed by fast cutting pre finishing stone. For polishing tools, knives and swords, these Binsui do an amazing job in removing scratches from Omura or medium coarse synthetics. forced slurry speeds the stone up and results in a coarser polish. When used with water only, they release some self slurry which can be broken down, resulting in a beautiful finish which is ready for a fine medium grit or fast pre finishing stone.
