Extremely old stock, vintage Sword Grade Binsui with purple mottling. These stones offer maximum performance for Binsui and are a pleasure to work with. These small Binsui are medium hardness with the stones highly abrasive slurry easily released under the weight of even a razor. Traditionally used early in a sword polishing progression for removal of Omura scratches, these Binsui can used either directly or used as large Tomo nagura to create abrasive slurry which removes medium grit scratches. The finish is variable with the stones base hardness allowing for some particle breakdown and moderate range of potential refinement levels.
For razors, these Binsui can be used in place or after a synthetic bevel setter. They quickly remove the deeper scratches, especially when used with forced slurry, and as the particles break down, the finish becomes increasingly more fine. These stones can be followed by either a Mikawa Nagura progression on a fine finishing stone or followed by fast cutting pre finishing stone. For polishing tools, knives and swords, these Binsui do an amazing job in removing scratches from Omura or medium coarse synthetics. forced slurry speeds the stone up and results in a coarser polish. When used with water only, they release some self slurry which can be broken down, resulting in a beautiful finish which is ready for a fine medium grit or fast pre finishing stone.
