A flagship straight razor from DOVO, the 6/8" Bergischer Löwe features a finely ground Spanish point blade with elegant gold etching, paired with a classic horn handle. The iconic lion—tribute to DOVO’s home region—adorns each handmade razor, while the ribbed tang underside ensures a secure grip. A true best-of-the-best piece for discerning shavers.

MATERIAL & CRAFTSMANSHIP
Forged from carbon steel 1.2210 (silver steel), the blade is heat-treated to approx. 61 HRC for an ideal balance of hardness, elasticity, and toughness. Decorative elements are finished with elegant 24-karat gold plating.

HANDLE
Handcrafted African cow horn scales, each with a unique grain and color pattern. Shaped through a meticulous process and polished repeatedly to a refined finish.

GRIND
Expert hollow grind delivers excellent flexibility with strong longitudinal rigidity, producing the characteristic audible feedback and smooth feel prized in a traditional shave.

BLADE & POINT
The Spanish point’s concave profile with a subtly rounded tip offers high precision while maintaining control—ideal for detailed areas around the nose, ears, and contours.

BLADE WIDTH
The 6/8" blade excels with dense or coarse beards, providing smooth momentum, stable handling, and an exceptionally close, comfortable shave—especially on straight facial planes.
