Restoration: This is a very lightly used razor which had accrued a bit of staining and corrosion over the many years of storage, as such the blade was fully polished and cleaned to remove blemishes as much as possible, and honed to shaving sharpness (all in-house by GSG founder Matt W.), original scales were polished

Finishes: Crocus (mirror) finish on spine and tang, slightly glazed (satin) finish on blade faces
Condition: Very nice, some deeper cosmetic blemishes and pitting in the steel remaining, but nothing that will, affect it's shaving ability
Shave ready: Yes, freshly honed with one layer of tape on the spine and then stropped and sanitized, fully ready to shave immediately

About our restoration and honing process
Each one of our restored razors is brought back to life with a passion and attention to detail like it would be an addition to our own collection or user rotation. Many years of restoration experience and hundreds of restored razors sold around the world have refined our processes, but each razor is still given the time and individual attention it needs. Our vintage razors undergo dozens of steps involving blade unpinning (where necessarily) metal grinding/sanding with a range of different diameter and hardness wheels with various grits of abrasive and polishes. Scales are straightened and repaired when necessary, wet sanded and polishing. After the razor’s cosmetic and functional repairs are completed, a multistep honing process using a range of synthetic and natural sharpening stones is used to bring each razor back to keen and comfortable shaving sharpness. Finally stropping is performed on one of our cordovan leather strops and the blade is sanitized in Barbicide hospital-grade disinfectant.
