Filarmonica No. 13 Late Model 4th Gen - NOS? 7/8 Straight Razors - CHOOSE YOUR RAZOR
Note: You can choose your exact razor from our current inventory by selecting the desired razor by its letter.
We acquired this lot of 4th Gen Filamonica #13s from an estate collection.
While not very highly regarded, they may be of value to a collector of the Filarmoinca brand. Each razor measures 7/8" wide from the edge to spine at the widest point. The are being sold as pictured - still coated in anti-rust oil, not honed and apparently unused.
History:
Fourth Generation (Post-JMP Era):
Following the death of José Monserrat Pou, his son briefly continued the business but passed away not long after. The company was subsequently overseen by JMP’s daughter before ultimately closing in 1990.
These final-era razors—often attributed to post-closure production using the Filarmonica name—are widely believed to feature hard, brittle steel sourced from Pakistan. While they can take a sharp edge, they tend to degrade prematurely and are prone to microchipping or edge failure.
-
No tang stamps—only a basic face etching: “FILARMONICA - DOBLE TEMPLE -”
-
Frequently packaged in Sello Oro-style boxes or plain plastic sleeves
-
Lacking the workmanship, steel quality, and shave performance of earlier models
