The Green Shadow is a type of slate stone. It originates from a private family-owned property in France that consists of various grades of slate, allowing for the supply of the full "Shadow" range.

Grit:
Green Shadow is a highly dense green slate, with a density greater than that of Black Shadow or La Lune.
Primarily, Green Shadow is intended for use as a polishing stone, offering minimal or no abrasion. It is best used after an 8000 grit or following the use of Black Shadow.
Due to its hardness, it will work more slowly with just water compared to Black Shadow. However, it is better suited for use with nagura stones ranging from lev1 to lev5. This makes it a superior "support" stone, as its hardness allows the nagura to break down, rather than the stone itself, following the principle of erosion by nagura on hard stones.

Directions for Use:
The Green Shadow can be used with slurry made from a piece of the same stone (included). It's best to use the slurry with minimal water—too much water can cause slippage due to the stone's hardness and create a suction effect. A small amount of water is recommended for optimal performance.

Using the stone with water will result in a glossy polish, while using glycerin or oil will create a more even finish. It is possible to switch from oil to water-based use, but be sure to clean the stone thoroughly before doing so.
