These Hideriyama Shiro Suita Tomo Nagura are a great, softer Nagura option.
When used in combination with a harder base stone, they will allow the user to control a harder, fine stone's characteristics. By adding this Nagura to the equation, they will release a higher percentage of their own slurry component which is highly abrasive and less refined than the base stone. This increases the stones capability in medium grit scratch removal and creates a unique, deep, hazy finish equivalent to pre finishing.
For cutlery, these stones have a reputation for adding depth and contrast to a Kasumi polish and adding tooth/bite to the edge. They are also great for refinement of the stones surface after lapping with a progression of diamond plates. T
hese Shiro Suita Nagura create a refined but matte finish on harder base stones, which allows for maximum refinement when honing razors.
These Shiro Suita Nagura will tend to release their own slurry when used on base stones Level 3.5+ hardness.
