This exceptional Japanese whetstone was selected by us and imported directly from Japan, thoroughly tested and sealed on sides and back to protect the stone for long term use.
It measures 270 mm (10.63 inches) long × 80 mm (3.15 inches) wide × 47 mm (1.85 inches) tall, and weighs 2485 g (87.65 oz / 5.48 lbs).
Hardness: 4.2
Hideriyama Uroku are very rare and unique to the mine. Uroku is equivalent to Aisa in Honkuchinaori mines such as Nakayama. most Hideriyama strata contain softer stones with larger grain size but these Uroku have been consistently more firm and fine. Nestled in between Shiro (Suita) and Tomae, these particular Uroku boast high hardness for Hideriyama stones and they're consistently the most firm and fine stones we've seen from the mine. These Uroku are the best razor hones from Hideriyama and work wonderfully for pre finishing as their grit rich composition and firm base allow for maximum friability and refinement possible.
