Iyoto Kokuro Aka:
This type is called Ko Kuro Aka or Black and Red. They display vividly contrasting patterns and color schemes. A much more firm and fine example, which is typical for this type. They displays fine performance characteristics and can be used as a pre finishing stone for razors. Fine enough for knife edge finishing as it produces an edge with amazing tooth/bite. This piece displays a slightly granular yet fine feel when used with water only. When slurried, the cutting action increases and medium grit scratches removed quickly and efficiently.\
Iyoto Mokume:
These picturesque Iyoto Mokume feature vivid and stunning, striped patterns. Some are large enough and perfectly shaped for direct honing of razors/kamisori. Newly mined, Iyoto Nagura Koume (Woodgrain). These Iyoto Nagura have been used throughout history in Japan for centuries. Iyoto offers aggressive, effective scratch removal capabilities to any base stone, whether Arato, naka or awasedo. Aggressive enough for light bevel setting and hard enough to allow for a range of refinement capabilities as the slurry is broken down.
Iyoto Shiro:
Newly mined Iyoto Nagura Shiro (white). These Shiro type offer some of the most hard and fine character traits of the 10+ types of Iyoto. Shiro is known for being one of the highest class in regards to refinement capabilities and polishing. These particular pieces features extremely fine, uniform grain in terms of Iyoto.
