Razor Specifics:
Age Range: The stamping of "THEIR MAJESTIES" on the tang indicates it was made during Victoria's reign while Prince Alfred was still living, 1840-1861
Restoration: Fully restored: The near wedge blade was lightly reground on an 8" wheel, full polished and cleaned, fitted with custom camel bone scales, repinned and honed
Blade
Material: Sheffield Crucible Steel (carbon steel)
Width: 3/4 wide from edge to top of spine at the widest point
Grind: Quarter hollow
Hone Wear: Very light, careful regrinding has left the blade with little hone wear and a thin, even bevel at the edge 
Tip: Hook nose
Finishes: Glazed finishe on the blade faces, crocus (mirror) finish all over the remainder
Condition: Just beautiful, only some scattered minor blemishes (patina) remaining in the steel, commensurate with its age
Shave ready: Yes, freshly honed and stropped and sanitized, fully ready to shave

Material: Original pre-1900 elephant ivory with lead wedge
Pinning: Nickel silver pins and washers, only the pivot pin and washers have been replaced
Condition: Excellent, glossy & highly polished, the blade centers well between them 
About our restoration and honing process
Each one of our restored razors is brought back to life with a passion and attention to detail like it would be an addition to our own collection or user rotation. Many years of restoration experience and hundreds of restored razors sold around the world have refined our processes, but each razor is still given the time and individual attention it needs. Our vintage razors undergo dozens of steps involving blade unpinning (where necessarily) metal grinding/sanding with a range of different diameter and hardness wheels with various grits of abrasive and polishes. Scales are straightened and repaired when necessary, wet sanded and polishing. After the razor’s cosmetic and functional repairs are completed, a multistep honing process using a range of synthetic and natural sharpening stones is used to bring each razor back to keen and comfortable shaving sharpness. Finally stropping is performed on one of our cordovan leather strops and the blade is sanitized in Barbicide hospital-grade disinfectant.
