Le Grelot "Medaille d'or Paris 1931" by Thiers Issard 6/8 with Stamina Wood Scales - Full Hollow Ground Straight Razor

Still manufactured in Thiers France, Thiers Issard has been manufacturing fine razors for over 100 years. Today, their razors combine classic craftsmanship with modern design resulting in razors that look as great as they perform.

This 5/8 "Le Grelot" brand razor manufactured by Thiers Issued features a c135 Carbonsong steel full hollow ground blade with a detailed etch, satin blade faces with mirror polished spine and tang, round tip and lower jimping. The razor scales are made from Stamina Wood, a durable engineered laminate made from wood veneers impregnated with phenolic resin, then compressed under high heat and pressure. It is prized for knife handles and high-wear items due to its moisture resistance, non-porous nature, and ability to be polished to a high luster. Each razor comes in a vintage inspired paperboard box.

In our experience, Thiers Issard razors usually come well honed right from the factory, possibly ready for shaving. As such, we will ship these razors with the factory edge for those clients who would choose to use the factory edge or hone themselves. However, if desired we will happily hone them to our high standards upon request, at no additional charge.
