Vintage, BNIB Maruichi Nakayama from a closed shops inventory. Maruichi Shokai was a famous distributor in the Barber industry in JP. They were most famous for these Nakayama and Narutaki Maruichi Whetstones which were processed and stamped by Maruichi, originating from Kato/Hatanaka. Maruichi Whetstones tend to be mostly marketed towards straight razor users but these high quality stones are amazing for knives, tools, razors and swords! Nowadays, these Maruichi are rare and valuable as the company closed decades ago. Sen Mai is a layer located between Hachimai and Tenjou Tomae, known for its dense, pure, fine stones. This piece is perfect in all aspects which is extremely rare to see these days. Perfect for razor, tool and carbon steel knife finishing. Although this stone is very hard, it has a smooth, easy to use feel which is quite luxurious. This is an extremely versatile harder stone and its ease of use characteristic makes it appropriate for all levels of skill and experience, which is rare as well. Produces a bright, reflective mirror polish with ease and extremely keen, light saber edges with relative ease.
