Asano Stamped Mikawa Shiro Nagura Ban. This Official Mikawa Shiro Nagura is an authentic Ban layer layer Nagura with flat surface for direct honing and slurrying purposes. Ban is a coarser, more aggressive layer than the Botan layers. This Nagura can be used for direct sharpening and performs a bit more fine when used as a hone as opposed to a slurrying medium. Kamisori, kiridashi, razors and small knives/tools can be sharpened with the semi soft stone releasing grit rich mud which can be broken down with further sharpening and water management. Ban is highly effective for scratch removal of medium grit synthetic/natural stones. When used as a slurry medium on a hard Awasedo for razors, Ban offers an aggressive, grit rich slurry which can be worked to further improve refinement. Can be used in place of Chu Nagura.
