Mikawa Shiro Nagura - Tenjou - Japanese Natural Whetstone - Choose Your Stone
Asano Stamped Mikawa Shiro Nagura Tenjou stones. These authentic Mikawa Shiro Nagura Tenjou are graded as Betsuju, meaning white and irregular in shape. Tenjou nagura are known for their versatile nature and fine grain. They are typically considered the second of the four primary Mikawa nagura layers, used after Botan in a standard progression.
White nagura are generally regarded as slightly softer than their striped counterparts. Tenjou stones are well suited for refining and removing the scratches left by Botan, and can also be used in a simplified two-nagura progression, followed by either Mejiro or Koma. In recent years, the availability of Tenjou has decreased, though they were once more commonly found.
