Beautiful, harder Uchigumori Tomo Nagura for creating slurry. These semi firm Uchigumori are extremely versatile and quite handy to have on the bench at all times!
Uchigumori have been treasured throughout Japan's craftsmanship history and have played a vital role in Samurai Sword Polishing for generations. Their unique ability to both remove metal and polish beautifully, set them apart into a category of their own.
These Tomo Nagura are perfect for razor pre finish as their unique composition allows for fast and efficient scratch removal as well as providing a uniform, deep, hazy bevel. This blanket of haze is easily refined through fine stone/Nagura work at the finishing stage.
For clad knives/tools and Honyaki, they can be used to control the depth and contrast of a Kasumi polish. These Tomo Nagura will add tooth/bite to a knives edge when slurries on a harder/more fine finishing stone.
These Tomo also work extremely well in conditioning a stone's surface post lapping. They will create a beautiful, silky, smooth surface.
These nagura will tend to release their own slurry when used on base stones Level 4.5+ hardness.
